He lives and works in São Paulo.
Matheus Chiaratti combines narrative instances from art history to literature, from historical characters to autofictions. With ceramic works that bring painting and sculpture together, Chiaratti also works with photography, audio, embroidery and poetry, constructing imaginaries permeated by desire and eroticism in a transit between affections and narratives. The artist’s gestures and the intervals between each of these elements weave unusual bodies that pose as enigmas to be unraveled. It is in this relationship that the literary and seductive potential of his work lies.
